HOME SHOW/SHOPPING CENTRE DISPLAYS



When setting up a home show or any type of high traffic display there are
some key areas that must be addressed to maximise visual impact.

 STAND SIZE:

Stand should be a reasonable size 6m along back wall with 3 m sides.

Corner positions are best as this enable you to open up display in 2 directions. 

Carpeted walls will allow velcro posters to be easily displayed.

 LIGHTING

Stand must be bright to attract attention.  If in doubt add more lights,
it is that
critical.

Most shell systems supplied by organiser will have at least 4 spot lights,
this is the minimum requirement.

 PEOPLE FLOW

Make sure the layout of stand promotes easy walk through by shoppers. 

If stand looks like a trap to shoppers they won’t come in, in the first place.

Don’t sit at the  back of the stand waiting for shoppers to approach you. 

Stand outside your stand looking in. This creates interest to others walking
past “this must be an interesting stand, if people are looking at it.”

 HAVE A HOME SHOW OFFER

Have a covered shoe box with slit to put in slips with client names and details.
 
Use a clip board and offer it to client to fill in their details and place their details in box. Saves time and allows you to quickly move onto the next client.

 WHY ARE YOU THERE?

To get names, address and e-mails, not to oversell.  We must only give out enough info to get their details.  DO NOT OVERSELL. If the show costs you $4000.00 and you get 100 names, your cost per lead is $40 per head, very acceptable.

 GETTING E-MAIL ADDRESSES

This is a major, major function in all lead generation. 

The internet is playing a very, very important role in keeping in contact with lead /customers. 

Remember home improvements are not an impulse buy, they are a planned purchase.  Buyers have been contemplating this purchase for months.  

We have found the first days of a home show are usually the best.   
These are the keen buyers ready to do something now.

 DISPLAY POSTERS

Should be large (A2 size) and easy to read from outside your stand. 

Stand outside your stand like a shopper does and see if you can see
everything easily. 

Does your stand impress you
? Be very critical, we only get a few seconds
to impress.   Shoppers will not enter unattractive, badly lit stands, with no
easy entry or exit points.

 SHOPPING CENTRES

Require a slightly different approach as there is a height restriction of 1500mm high on all display material. 

Always remember to make all display material for home shows at 1500mm
high so as it can be used in shopping centre.  

As lighting is difficult, make sure area  at shopping centre is well lit. 

We have found a light box invaluable in lighting up a display.
