These are
both good providing you understand the consequences.
I have
noticed in tough times that the first businesses to go
broke are those which have no retail lead generation
program. These businesses usually wait until a
builder/developer walks in the door, places a large order,
screws down the price (so profit margin is minimal) and
then either takes ages to pay or never does. History will
tell you that the first suppliers a developer/builder
takes down are the sub-contractors
On the other
hand, a retail customer is a smaller contract but they pay
you immediately, and you should get a 50% deposit to start
with. This is cash flow positive, not cash flow negative.
It makes
very good sense to us that every business needs a strong
retail presence. It is your security against bad or slow
debts from your commercial side.
COMMERCIAL
DEBTS CAN BE LARGE AND DANGEROUS TO YOUR BUSINESS.
If you want
to sleep well at night have a strong retail lead
generation program.
P.S. If you
would like any help on implementing this kind of program
or improving what you are currently doing, give us a call. |
